Stephan's Dad's recipe for Beef Stroganoff
2lbs Sirloin, top round (not chuck)
1 carton White Mushrooms
1 ea medium yellow onion
1Tbl Ground black pepper
1Tbl Garlic Salt
1cup Red Wine
1cup Sour cream
1bag Extra Wide egg noodles
Slice beef in long strips approximately 1 inch length and a ¼ inch in width. Mix three spices together and then dredge(roll) beef in them. Cook beef strips in a saute pan till medium rare and remove from heat and set aside.
Slice mushrooms thin. Peel onion and cut from one stem to the other. Slice across the width as thin as the mushrooms. Saute in a separate pan the mushrooms and onion in butter until tender, set aside.
Remove meat from first pan while leaving drippings in pan. Poor wine in pan and boil 5 minutes. Put all ingredients in pan until hot, remove from heat and fold in sour cream. Viola! You’re done
Serve over egg noodles.
